Emergency Psych Registered Nurse
Shift - Nights (7pm-7am)
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with mental health issues, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. This role involves working closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans. The Psychiatric Nurse will also be responsible for conducting assessments, administering medications, and providing education on mental health management.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify mental health needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols.
- Provide crisis intervention and support during acute episodes of psychiatric distress.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for patients, including case management and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training related to psychiatric nursing practices.
Requirements
- 2-Year Associates degree required
- Valid nursing license (RN) in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification
- At least 1 year previous experience in mental health nursing Required
- Strong assessment skills with the ability to perform physical examinations and vital sign monitoring.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating empathy and respect for patients' needs.
