Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Shift - Nights (1830- 0700) with rotating schedule as needed
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role requires excellent critical thinking skills and the capacity to provide high-quality patient care in emergency situations. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine health status and needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform venipuncture and manage intravenous (IV) therapy.
- Assist with airway management and other emergency procedures as necessary.
- Develop and implement discharge planning for patients transitioning out of the emergency department.
- Provide pain management interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Educate patients and families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications
- Must have at least 2 years experience in the Emergency Department treating all ages and all types of causes.
- Strong skills in pain management techniques and discharge planning processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient education.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
