Position Overview
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager and Superintendent throughout all phases of construction — from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate has prior multifamily or commercial construction experience and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and managing daily project operations for multifamily developments.
- Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes in alignment with company standards.
- Support budget tracking, cost reports, and contract documentation to maintain financial accuracy throughout the project.
- Ensure compliance with project safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Help maintain relationships with owners, design teams, and consultants to ensure clear communication and expectations.
- Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and warranty documentation.
- Use project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar) to update project records and communicate progress.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager within multifamily or commercial construction.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and submittal processes.
- Proficiency with Procore, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to supporting the project team.
