Job Title : Software Developer
Location : Appleton, WI/Remote
Primary skills : Duck Creek, P&C Insurance, Agency portal
The Software Developer is responsible for the design, code, and testing of software programs and applications that enable Agent, Client, and Associate facing technologies and capabilities for P&C Insurance. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop solutions within the Commercial team, including designing, developing, configuring and managing our Agent Portal software, AgencyPort by Duck Creek as well as our internally developed Customer Risk Clearance application
- Deploy solutions into Test and Production environments
- Analyze, design, program, unit test, and implement systems to fulfill business needs or problems, utilizing all phases of the system development life cycle (SDLC)
- Collaborate with business analysts to solve business problems
- Consistently write, translate, and develop solutions according to specifications
- Attend scrum ceremonies and maintain Azure DevOps
- Utilize all P&C Insurance issued developer tools for programming and system monitoring
- Perform assigned project tasks in a highly interactive team environment while maintaining a productive and positive atmosphere
- Communicate effectively with peers and leaders about progress and timelines
- Able to adapt quickly to a changing environment
- Participate in the 24x7 on-call support rotation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems or associates degree with equivalent experience
- Programming experience in an object-oriented language, preferably .NET (C#) or Java
- Working knowledge of database structure, design, and access methods
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good organization/prioritization skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, yet maintain quality work
- Experience with web based application development
- Basic knowledge of SQL Server and DB2 databases including stored procedures
