Position Information
Working Title Stream Restoration Specialist (internal only) Department Center for Environmental Restoration Compensation Title Specialist, Stream Restoration Position Number 30024229 Position Status Contract Work Schedule
M-F 37.5 hours/week; occasional overnight travel and weekend assignments may be required; may work longer and fewer workdays to meet 37.5 hours per week; must coordinate vacation schedule with supervisor to ensure available supervision of field crew.
Hours per Week 37.5 Months per Year 12 Purpose of Position
Manage and complete assessment, design, construction, and other tasks for Kentucky Utilities and other stream mitigation projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and conduct assessment of stream type and condition using standard stream bioassessment protocols, surveying, and GPS/GIS mapping techniques; Manage and conduct stream, wetland, and riparian buffer restoration and construction, including earth moving equipment operation and supervision, subcontractor management, sediment and erosion control, native planting, and health and safety; Assemble, maintain, and manage field vehicles, tools, equipment, instruments, computers, software, etc.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in basic sight level surveying, GPS, GIS, employee and subcontractor oversight, construction equipment operation and maintenance, chain saw operation, health and safety program implementation, Excel spreadsheets, and USEPA Rapid bioassessment protocol. Stream restortion experience highly desirable.
Minimum Education 1-2 Years of College Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree Minimum Experience 3 years Salary Minimum $42,549.00/ annually Pay Grade S70
