We are looking for a Deputy General Manager, Equipment to join our team!
Summary: Directs the planning, Maintenance, acquisition and quality assurance of new or overhauled rolling stock. Monitors design, construction and budget of all capital programs.
Roles And Responsibilities
Directs the planning, acquisition and quality assurance of new or overhauled rolling stock. Monitors design, construction and budget of all capital programs.
- Responsible for the Line Operations Mechanical staff, Meadow Maintenance Complex (MMC), as well as all equipment projects.
- Directs the day-to-day equipment availability for daily train service by ensuring that all Rail rolling stock receives the appropriate tests and necessary field repairs while at the outlying locations.
- Directs all Rail equipment engineering, including preventative maintenance standards, vendor repair specifications, inspection procedures and equipment modifications.
- Directs the development, modification and updating of fleet maintenance standards. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Federally mandated and NJ TRANSIT requirements and standards at all NJ TRANSIT maintenance locations.
- Directs the quality assurance audit of NJ TRANSIT maintenance facilities, as well as vendor repair locations to ensure compliance to FRA and NJ TRANSIT regulations.
- Directs the preparation, administration and monitoring of the annual capital budget.
- Interfaces with various departments throughout the NJ TRANSIT, labor organizations and Rail line management.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Transportation or related field
- Ten (10) or more years of progressive managerial experience with a Class I Railroad or Passenger, including maintenance of railroad equipment.
- One year of closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
