Position Overview
We are looking for an organized, detail-focused Inventory Control Assistant to support our Purchasing Department. This entry-level role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with numbers, keeping things accurate, and helping inventory flow smoothly from suppliers to our warehouse and production floor. You will help monitor stock levels, update inventory records, and support the purchasing process to ensure our packaging materials are available when customers and production teams need them.
This position plays an important part in keeping operations running efficiently and supporting our commitment to reliable, on-time delivery for customers across a wide range of packaging products.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the purchasing and inventory control process by assisting with order entry, tracking, and documentation.
- Help monitor inventory levels, usage, and incoming shipments to prevent shortages or overstock.
- Assist in creating and updating replenishment orders based on min/max levels and sales or production needs.
- Enter purchase orders into the system and follow up with vendors as needed to confirm delivery dates.
- Maintain accurate inventory and purchasing records, including item data, pricing, lead times, and order status.
- Prepare basic reports on inventory levels, order activity, and supplier delivery performance.
- Coordinate with warehouse, sales, and production teams to verify inventory counts and align material availability with demand.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits; research discrepancies and report findings.
- Communicate professionally with suppliers and internal teams regarding order updates, delays, or discrepancies.
- Perform additional administrative and department support tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or coursework in Business, Supply Chain, or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in inventory, purchasing, warehouse support, or an office admin role is helpful but not required. We’re willing to train the right person.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with data and tracking systems.
- Intermediate Excel skills - Pivot Table and VLOOKUP is required; advanced Excel is a bonus.
- Comfortable learning ERP or inventory systems (training provided).
- Good communication skills and willingness to ask questions when unsure.
- Ability to stay organized, manage multiple tasks, and follow through in a busy environment.
