Quality Control Manager/Construction Materials Testing Technician
NicNevol Engineering Services is currently seeking an experienced CMT Senior Inspector to support our projects located in South Florida (FDOT Districts 4, 6 and Turnpike. The successful candidate must be familiar with FDOT’s electronic logbooks, will perform Contractor Quality Control Testing (CQC) testing on FDOT projects, supervise technicians and monitor such projects for adherence to FDOT specifications, monitor laboratory samples and review samples in MAC. Perform field inspections and/or audit duties and maintain inspection records. Additional duties:
· Inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests
· Coordinating and managing the lower level inspectors
· Performing work under the general supervision of the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Engineer
· Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
· Provides on the job training to new employees
· Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties
· Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records
· Tracks quality control progress
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other NicNevol Engineering offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 years of Quality Control experience in roadway or bridge construction
- CTQP Quality Control Manager
- CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II

- This position will be subject to indoor and outside environmental conditions, including weather conditions such as wet and /or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments.
- Work will primarily be in the field involving long term standing and frequent walking as well as include common hazards at construction and project sites.
- Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 10-12 hours a day on occasion.
- Must have the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk.
- Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.
- Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
