Job Summary:
Our firm is seeking an experienced, skilled and motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating subsurface conditions and providing geotechnical recommendations for construction, infrastructure, and environmental projects. This role involves conducting site investigations, performing soil and rock analyses, designing foundations and earthworks, and preparing technical reports.
This is a full-time position.

Work Schedule:
- This position is expected to fulfill job responsibilities as required to meet project demands. Workdays are typically scheduled Monday through Friday, with flexibility based on project needs.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct geotechnical site investigations, including soil borings, test pits, cone penetration tests (CPT), and geophysical surveys.
- Analyze soil, rock, groundwater, and other site conditions to determine engineering properties.
- Perform laboratory and in-situ testing on soil and rock samples.
- Design geotechnical components such as:
- Shallow and deep foundations
- Retaining walls and slopes
- Embankments and earthworks
- Ground improvement techniques
- Use software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, SLOPE/W, LPILE, gINT) for modeling and analysis.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, construction specifications, and design drawings.
- Provide support during construction, including field inspections and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental engineers, as well as clients and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
- Stay current on geotechnical engineering trends, techniques, and materials.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency with geotechnical software and tools.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in an agile work environment with personnel delivering from multiple locations or remotely.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Client (internal and external) service focus.
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational and time management skills with abilities to multitask and complete various assignments at once.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
- 2-8 years of geotechnical engineering experience (entry-level to senior roles).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with slope stability, settlement analysis, seismic design, or ground improvement.
- Familiarity with environmental site assessments or contaminated land.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within a specified time.
- Valid Driver’s License and Evidence of Insurability.
Working Conditions:
- Mix of office and fieldwork; exposure to outdoor conditions.
- May involve lifting equipment and samples, and working in remote areas.
- Occasional travel to project sites, sometimes overnight.
