Director of Accounts Payable

NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a leading provider of technology solutions to find a Director of Accounts Payable. The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced, multi-entity environments and has experience managing a hybrid of US-based and offshore teams. This individual will champion process improvement, strengthen internal controls, and build scalable accounts payable operations that support continued company growth.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, JDEdwards, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
• 8 years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, including 3 years in leadership
• Experience working with offshore or shared services delivery models
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, compliance standards, and GAAP
• Demonstrated success leading process improvements and workflow optimization initiatives, starting from a manual process environment
• Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills

Preferred:

• Experience in distribution, manufacturing, telecommunications, or project-based industries
• Experience leading teams through system implementations or process transformation initiatives
• Experience with OCR invoice processing or AP automation platforms
• CPA or MBA
