RF / GIS Engineer –Dallas- Remote
Overview:
Supports wireless network deployment and FCC spectrum compliance by analyzing RF coverage/Design performance and preparing regulatory filing documentation. Combines RF engineering, GIS analysis, and data automation to validate population coverage and ensure compliance with spectrum buildout requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze RF propagation and wireless coverage to validate network performance and FCC compliance (e.g., 45% / 80% population coverage milestones)
- Work with spectrum license blocks (including 3.45 GHz PEAs) to identify markets eligible for regulatory filings
- Process coverage and transmitter data using RF tools like ATOLL to calculate population coverage across licensed areas
- Execute and monitor automated geospatial workflows using Alteryx to validate coverage metrics and site utilization
- Generate coverage maps, shapefiles, and site lists using GIS tools such as MapInfo
- Investigate discrepancies in coverage data and coordinate corrections with RF engineering teams
- Prepare and maintain regulatory documentation packages for FCC submissions
- Support senior engineers with review cycles and final submission updates
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of RF propagation, coverage analysis, and spectrum planning
- Hands-on experience with ATOLL and GIS tools (MapInfo or equivalent)
- Experience with Alteryx or similar data automation platforms (e.g., AT&T, Verizon, Ericsson environments/tools)
- Ability to work with geospatial datasets (shapefiles, site/transmitter data, coverage layers)
- Strong technical documentation and compliance reporting skills
- Bachelor’s degree and, GIS, Geospatial Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
