Construction Coordinator II
Locations: Alexandria, Virginia
We are seeking an experienced Construction Coordinator to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of telecommunications construction projects. The ideal candidate will manage project workflows, track milestones, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with company, local, state, and federal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the full lifecycle of telecommunications construction projects from job creation through project closeout.
- Create and manage jobs in JT/Polaris and ensure project milestones are updated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project schedules, production logs, material costs, labor expenditures, and overall project progress.
- Manage project exceptions and ensure compliance with established lifecycle SLAs.
- Coordinate overhead and underground construction activities, including cable placement, strand and pole work, utility transfers, and joint trench construction.
- Perform administrative quality control by validating project documentation, including materials, invoices, permits, photos, and field documentation.
- Ensure final invoicing and project closeout milestones are completed accurately.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal cross-functional teams, including Operations, Project Management, Field Management, Design, Sales, and Permitting.
- Create and manage funding requests, purchase orders, material reconciliation, and project financial tracking.
- Prepare project estimates and maintain accurate financial records.
- Generate project status reports and provide regular updates to management.
- Monitor construction crew performance and ensure work is completed according to project goals and quality standards.
- Conduct worksite visits and ensure compliance with company safety policies and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Review and resolve customer requests and project-related issues.
- Coordinate daily activities of business support, technical, and production teams.
- Support leadership with project coordination and manager general contractor other assigned responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Experience coordinating telecommunications, utility, or infrastructure construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction project lifecycle management and milestone tracking.
- Experience using JT/Polaris or similar project management systems.
- Knowledge of aerial and underground telecommunications construction practices.
- Experience managing project budgets, purchase orders, funding requests, and material reconciliation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale telecommunications construction programs for major wireless carriers or telecom vendors such as Ericsson, Nokia, T-Mobile, or other leading telecommunications organizations.
- Knowledge of permitting, design coordination, and quality control processes.
- Experience working with engineering, construction, and operations teams in a fast-paced environment.
