Job Description
- Primarily responsible for working alongside the Development and Product Management teams to produce high-quality entertainment applications that enable customers to access, record, and watch video content on iOS, Android, and web platforms.
- Thoroughly test web-based entertainment applications across multiple browsers and platforms.
- Triage and validate fixes for bugs identified during development cycles and, occasionally, in production environments.
- Collaborate with Development and Product Management teams to understand, refine, and contribute to requirements and test cases for new features.
- Work closely with the Functional Automation team to translate regression test cases into automation scripts.
- Analyze RESTful web services used by applications for data presentation and error handling.
- Take ownership of issues and drive them through to resolution.
- Thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment where requirements evolve rapidly and adaptability is essential.
- Perform inspections and establish quality assurance testing models for the analysis of raw materials, work-in-progress materials, and finished products.
Requirements
- 5β8 years of experience testing web applications across multiple browsers and platforms.
- Familiarity with HTTP web services and the ability to modify requests and responses to test a variety of scenarios.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong focus on test case maintainability.
- Excellent debugging skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with web test automation is a plus (e.g., Cucumber and Capybara).
- Experience with video quality analysis is a plus.
Significant Experience in One or More of the Following Areas
- Deployment Automation and Containerization (Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Configuration Management and Build Automation.
- Set-Top Box Automation (Cisco, Arris).
- Large-Scale Systems Integration and Automation.
Technical Skills
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript.
- Experience programming in core languages such as Java or Objective-C.
- Experience with web application development, including Dynamic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript integration.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) development lifecycles and the development and testing challenges associated with CI environments.
- Ability to navigate and work within Unix operating systems.
Additional Qualifications
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical issues and technologies.
- Familiarity with the full lifecycle of QA Engineering support for technology stacks including:
- JavaScript
- iOS and/or Android client technologies
- Unix server-side technologies
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the QA Engineering and software testing domain.
