Hiring for Wireless Network Hardware Engineer (Must be Onsite)
Must be willing to work from 8pm to 5am Sunday night thru Friday morning in the Plano, TX office
MUST have:
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux
- Strong knowledge in LTE, 5G network architecture, EMS servers, Virtualization and IP networks (IPV4 and IPV6)
Position Summary:
- Work during the Maintenance Window and perform execution of scheduled tasks, perform pre and post checks and ensure that all work is completed error free.
- Working knowledge of Linux, wireless network deployments, any scripting skills would be beneficial.
- Very strong knowledge of Terminal application (like SecureCRT/xShell/Putty with advance macro/VB skills).
- Strong knowledge in LTE, 5G and network architecture (USM and RAN Network Elements) and IP networks (IPV4/IPV6).
- Be able to collect logs and perform log analysis for discussions with engineering and HQ on various issues.
- Execute scripts and collect data as requested.
- Perform Software and Firmware upgrades on different Network Elements including (eNBs, small cells and other associated Network equipment).
- Good troubleshooting and communications skills
- Provide support to customer when they are self performing by reviewing the MOP in advance, ensuring that all work is completed error free, providing guidance to customers on maintenance support during network issues, parameter changes and SW upgrades
- Responsible for routine or standard technical problems and responds to standard requests from internal and external customers.
- Work with engineering to understand all maintenance activities and MOPs associated with nightly Maintenance scheduled activities
- Be able to review various Engineering MOPs and identify missing steps or issues
- Perform pre/post checks on any work performed, review output, identify if any issues (alarms, traffic, cell status) and work to resolution within MW
Background and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (EE, CS or related field) with 5 years of experience or equivalent work experience required.
- Strong IP background required
- Very familiar with the Wireless Network and Mobile Interworking (RAN or IP).
- Good knowledge of UNIX/LINUX operating systems
- Prior experience and/or proven ability to develop, train, and supervise junior NMC Engineers.
- The demonstrated ability to solve problems involving highly diverse conditions requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned things.
- Interact with all levels within the organization and has frequent external contacts.
- Work under very little supervision and guidance to identify and ensure achievement of team goals and to complete individual work assignments within established time frames.
- Must be able to work under pressure and willing to work on the ad-hoc schedule and/or on-call environment.
