Responsibilities
- Install, integrate, and commission wireless network equipment and IP routers in compliance with manufacturer standards.
- Perform on-site field engineering activities including installation, testing, troubleshooting, and backhaul/transmission support.
- Lead and execute field integration and testing activities (FFA/FIT/FOA) for 4G/5G features and performance.
- Collaborate with RF engineers and testing teams to ensure site readiness and KPI compliance.
- Conduct walk/drive testing, ad-hoc field testing, and support RF field trials.
- Manage RMA processes including troubleshooting, hardware replacement, and documentation.
- Prepare daily status reports, technical documentation, and presentations.
- Schedule and assign daily field tasks and coordinate site activities.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers, project teams, and field personnel.
- Provide guidance, training, and technical direction to internal and subcontracted field engineers.
- Support limited project management activities to ensure RF engineering deliverables are met.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 10 years of telecom field experience, or 15 years with equivalent experience.
- Strong hands-on experience using Linux in a production environment.
- Extensive experience in LTE/4G and 5G wireless network design, deployment, commissioning, and optimization.
- Solid understanding of RF fundamentals, IP networking, and routing/switching.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead field teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel 75% .
Preferred
- Experience with GIS/mapping tools.
- CBRS CPI certification.
- Experience with Massive MIMO, TDD systems, and CBRS.
Tools & Expertise
- 4G/5G testing, optimization, and troubleshooting (Sub-6 GHz and mmWave).
- UE data collection and post-processing tools (e.g., Accuver XCAL/XCAP).
- Experience with base station equipment from major wireless vendors.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
