We are hiring for DAS Field Engineer – Northern VA, DC, Central MD
What You’ll Do
- Conduct on-site benchmark testing and post-processing.
- Perform wireless service provider and public safety radio testing.
- Commission, integrate, and optimize passive and active DAS installations.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and troubleshoot DAS issues.
- Stay current with in-building solutions and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate systems, report findings, and support maintenance contracts.
- Coordinate with wireless carriers, AHJs, customers, and stakeholders.
- Complete work tickets and warranty paperwork on time.
- Participate in training and maintain technical aptitude.
- Read electrical and mechanical diagrams; work independently and in teams.
What You Bring
Basic Qualifications:
- 2 years of DAS commissioning, integration, and optimization for Public Safety or Wireless Service Providers.
- Intermediate troubleshooting skills on in-building systems.
- Experience with field engineer tools: Spectrum Analyzer, CW Generator, PCTEL scanner, OTDR, handset testing, Fluke cable tester.
- Knowledge of mobile technology standards, propagation modeling, antenna theory, BDA theory, link budgets, and DAS design.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass security clearances, background checks, and drug tests.
Preferred Qualifications & Traits:
- Safety-conscious with OSHA/CE compliance.
- Maintain a neat work area and accurate tool inventory.
- DAS OEM certifications (JMA, Comba, Fiplex, ADRF, CommScope, Corning).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work indoors/outdoors in heat, cold, wet, dry conditions.
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and handling equipment.
- Occasional ladder use and vehicle operation.
- On-call availability for critical system maintenance is a plus.
- First shift Monday–Friday, with rare 2nd/3rd shifts or weekends.
Travel
- Daily travel within Northern VA, DC, Central MD.
- Occasional travel outside the region as needed.
