Job Description
Member needs a caregiver who can provide calm, attentive support with safe eating assistance due to difficulty swallowing, including meal setup and monitoring for comfort while eating. Member also experiences dizziness, so caregiver must be safety-focused with transfers, standing, and walking support as needed (fall-prevention mindset). Member requires help with breathing treatment support (non-medical assistance such as setup reminders, positioning, and comfort measures) and pacing activities to avoid overexertion. Ideal caregiver is patient, observant, communicates clearly, and is comfortable providing steady companionship while maintaining a clean, low-stress home environment.

Required Duties (Texas STAR PLUS Caregiver Requirements)
Personal Care Assistance: bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting assistance as needed; hygiene support and skin care observation.
Mobility & Safety Support: assistance with transfers/standing/walking as needed; fall prevention due to dizziness; safe positioning and comfort measures.
Meal Support: meal prep and meal setup; assistance during meals with attention to swallowing difficulty; encourage hydration as tolerated; light dishwashing/cleanup after meals.
Breathing/Comfort Support (Non-Medical): assist with routine comfort measures, positioning, and reminders/support around breathing treatments per member’s established routine (no medication administration details).
Light Housekeeping: tidy common areas, kitchen/bathroom wipe-down, laundry/linens, trash removal, and maintaining a clean, breathable environment.
Companionship: friendly conversation, reassurance, and monitoring for changes in comfort; report concerns to agency per policy.
Errands/Shopping: only if requested/approved - caregiver may need to drive for essential errands (if applicable).
Home Environment Notes: No pets. Non-smoker household.
