Job Description
Member is an older adult female who needs a dependable, patient caregiver to support safety and comfort at home. Caregiver should be attentive to changes in condition, provide steady support with daily routines, and encourage safe movement and pacing as tolerated. Member lives with her daughter, so caregiver must communicate respectfully with family and work well in a shared household. Home has pets, so caregiver must be comfortable working around animals.

Required Duties (Texas STAR PLUS Caregiver Requirements)
Personal Care / ADLs: • Assistance with bathing, grooming, oral care, and dressing as needed
• Toileting assistance and incontinence care as needed
• Safe transfers and mobility support as tolerated (use fall-prevention practices) Meal Support: • Meal preparation and light cooking
• Encourage hydration and regular meals per household routine Light Housekeeping: • Tidying client areas, sweeping/vacuuming as needed, wiping surfaces
• Laundry/linen changes and keeping the care area clean and safe Companionship & Safety Monitoring: • Friendly companionship and reassurance
• Observe and report changes in condition to agency/family per care plan
• Maintain a calm, respectful environment in a shared home Errands / Shopping (If Authorized): • Grocery shopping and essential errands as needed
• Driving may be required if errands/shopping are part of the care plan (confirm authorization and caregiver eligibility) Home Environment Notes: • Non-smoker household preferred (member is a non-smoker)
• Pets in the home (caregiver must be pet-friendly)
