We are seeking a highly experienced Executive Assistant to provide temporary maternity coverage supporting the CEO of a growing media/news organization. This is a high-level support role for a very demanding executive, so we’re looking for someone who is confident working in a fast-paced environment, can anticipate needs, and is comfortable managing both professional and occasional personal responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting a CEO, founder, or other senior-level executive and be comfortable operating with a high degree of discretion, urgency, and independence. Experience within the news, media, or communications industry is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day executive support to the CEO, including calendar management, scheduling, coordination, and administrative tasks
- Act as a trusted gatekeeper and point of contact, helping manage competing priorities and requests
- Anticipate the CEO’s needs and proactively handle tasks to keep things running smoothly
- Coordinate meetings, appointments, travel, and other logistics as needed
- Assist with both professional and occasional personal/household-related tasks
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Provide a high level of responsiveness and attention to detail while supporting a demanding executive
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Executive Assistant supporting a CEO, founder, or other C-level executive
- Comfortable supporting a high-demand executive with a busy schedule
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly proactive, resourceful, and able to anticipate needs
- Comfortable handling both business and personal-assistant responsibilities
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Experience in news, media, communications, or a related industry is a plus
- Must be able to work onsite in San Francisco 3 days per week
