New Mexico Department of Health and New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute are working to open a substance abuse treatment program that will include medically monitored withdrawal management and social rehabilitation for adults at the Epi Duran building in Las Vegas, NM. We will serve clients struggling with mental health illness and substance abuse and work as a team to connect them to resources in effort to guide them toward long term sobriety.

Why does the job exist?
This individual will provide direct counseling services for patients diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders at Turquoise Lodge Hospital, and will plan, direct, and review the work of other licensed clinical staff and hospital clinical programming. This position ensures that hospital programming is delivered in accordance with organizational policy, New Mexico State Counseling Practice, NM Administrative code, and the Joint Commission requirements.
How does it get done?
Through the use of evidence-based practices, assessment, and treatment planning. Provide direct care services and supervise licensed clinician providing substance use treatment for individuals, families, and groups within inpatient and outpatient settings.
Who are the customers?
Adult patients with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate must be a team player, have excellent time management skills, be a self-starter, must be able to handle disruptive patients and de-escalate situations
Minimum Qualification
Licensure in New Mexico as an LMSW, LISW, LMHC, LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, or LPAT and one (1) year of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field above licensure requirements and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess a valid Driver's License
Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
