Why does the job exist?
This position exists to manage and oversee personal funds for individuals for whom the program serves as Representative Payee. The role ensures that all funds are requested, disbursed, and tracked in compliance with SSA/SSI regulations. In addition to Representative Payee fund management, this position may also support the program¿s operating budget through vouching, billing, and other finance-related duties. This position is essential to maintaining accurate financial records, supporting transparency and accountability, and ensuring the program remains audit-ready at all times.

Responsibilities include writing checks and processing fund requests for individuals served and their interdisciplinary teams; maintaining clear and consistent communication with both internal and external stakeholders; managing receipts, reconciliations, and fund tracking to ensure accuracy and compliance; providing excellent customer service; balancing checkbooks, file management and supporting other financial and administrative functions as needed..

This position is performed for the individuals served by LLCP, ensuring their personal funds are managed responsibly, transparently, and in their best interest.
Ideal Candidate
Knowledge of accounting principles
Thorough knowledge of cash and banking reconciliation
Experience working on time sensitive projects
Experience working with confidential records
Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or Equivalency and six (6) months experience in bookkeeping, office administration, auditing, accounting, and/or finance. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) months may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certificate as a condition of continued employment within 45 days of employment. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer to include working with computers, faxes, copiers and printers, and phone usage with extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, kneeling and crawling. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Some travel may be required.
