As we continue to grow, we are seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who is more than a traditional finance leader. This role offers the opportunity to serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership while leading a strong accounting team and helping shape the next phase of NCS’s growth.

Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer will oversee all financial operations for NCS, providing strategic leadership and operational oversight across accounting, financial planning, reporting, and business performance initiatives.
This role will be responsible for driving financial discipline, improving reporting capabilities, managing cash flow, supporting operational decisions, and ensuring the company has the financial visibility needed to scale successfully.
The CFO will work closely with executive leadership, project teams, and external partners to optimize financial performance and support long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Lead all accounting and finance operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team.
- Translate financial data into actionable insights to support business decisions.
- Provide recommendations on profitability, growth opportunities, and operational improvements.
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company goals.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital strategies.
- Analyze financial performance, trends, and key business metrics.
- Provide executive reporting and recommendations to improve company performance.
- Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives.
Project Accounting & Operations Support
- Oversee Work-In-Progress (WIP) reporting and project financial performance.
- Manage job costing processes and profitability analysis.
- Ensure accurate percentage-of-completion accounting.
- Partner with operations and project teams to improve project margins and financial outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost controls and operational efficiency.
Accounting Operations & Controls
- Oversee general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Strengthen internal controls, processes, and financial systems.
- Improve reporting capabilities and business intelligence tools.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Leadership & Relationship Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop an experienced accounting and finance team.
- Build strong partnerships with banking institutions, bonding companies, insurance providers, CPA firms, and other financial partners.
- Manage external financial relationships and negotiations.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
- 5 years of experience leading accounting or finance teams.
- Experience in construction, contracting, engineering, technology infrastructure, or another project-based industry.
- Strong understanding of project accounting and financial operations.
- Proven experience supporting business growth and operational scalability.
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge and experience with:
- Work-In-Progress (WIP) reporting
- Job costing
- Percentage-of-completion accounting
- Cash flow management
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Financial reporting and analysis
- Internal controls and process improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification preferred but not required.
- Experience supporting companies approaching or exceeding $100M in revenue.
- Experience in technology infrastructure, low-voltage, construction, or field services industries.
- Experience implementing or improving ERP/accounting systems.
