Technical Documentation Specialist (Cybersecurity Focus)
Location: Denver, CO
Duration: 12 Months Contract- Possible extesnion
Pay Rate: $55-$60/hr on W2
We are seeking a Technical Documentation Specialist with 7-10 years of experience focused on researching, creating, and maintaining cybersecurity documentation supporting IT and Industrial Control Systems (OT) environments.
Responsibilities
- Research, prepare, edit, and maintain technical documentation throughout its lifecycle.
- Develop operational support documentation including runbooks, playbooks, SOPs, onboarding guides, and best practices.
- Create and maintain documentation for Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Logging/Monitoring applications.
- Ensure documentation follows established quality, formatting, versioning, and publishing standards.
- Support internal audit, external audit, and regulatory compliance documentation requirements including SOX, NERC CIP, and ISO.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, analysts, architects, and vendors to gather technical information.
- Align documentation publishing with location, access control, and compliance requirements.
- Utilize AI capabilities to improve documentation creation and maintenance.
- Keep documentation aligned with evolving technologies, threats, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of technical documentation experience with focus on cybersecurity, IT, Industrial Control Systems, or OT environments.
- Experience researching, editing, and maintaining complex technical documentation.
- Experience creating runbooks, playbooks, SOPs, onboarding guides, and system documentation.
- Familiarity with Identity & Access Management (IAM) systems and Logging/Monitoring platforms including SIEM and EDR/XDR.
- Strong understanding of documentation standards, formatting, and publishing practices.
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments such as utilities, energy, finance, healthcare, or government.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts.
- Experience using AI tools to enhance documentation creation and maintenance.
Preferred Certifications
- Certified Authorization Professional (CAP) or similar GRC certification.
- Technical Writing Certification.
Preferred Skills
- Technical documentation and editorial excellence.
- Cybersecurity knowledge in IAM (RBAC, MFA, PAM) and Logging & Monitoring (SIEM/SOAR, EDR/XDR, OT monitoring, incident response, operational workflows).
- Familiarity with SharePoint or Confluence and exposure to Splunk, CrowdStrike, Dragos, and Industrial Defender.
- AI-assisted writing, summarization, editing, and content optimization.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
