Technical Documentation Specialist - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Technical Documentation Specialist for a hybrid position with a Large Energy Company located in Denver, CO or Minneapolis, MN. This is a long-term contract opportunity.

Pay Range: $47.75 - $57.75 per hour based on experience and qualifications

Position Overview:
This role focuses on developing, standardizing, and maintaining cybersecurity documentation across IT and OT environments. The ideal candidate will create and refine playbooks, job aids, onboarding materials, and best practices while ensuring consistency and alignment with compliance requirements. Key emphasis is on improving documentation quality and establishing standardized formats across tools and applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Standardize and maintain documentation artifacts across cybersecurity tools
• Develop playbooks, onboarding guides, job aids, and best practices
• Conduct discovery sessions with SMEs to gather content
• Maintain documentation lifecycle including version control
• Ensure documentation aligns with compliance and policy requirements
• Manage documentation repository (primarily SharePoint)
• Provide continuous improvement recommendations for documentation processes

Requirements:

• 5-7 years of technical writing/documentation experience
• Experience in cybersecurity domains (IAM, logging/monitoring, IT/OT environments)
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to lead information-gathering sessions
• Experience working in regulated industries (utilities, healthcare, finance, government)
• Proven ability to create structured, standardized documentation
• Experience using AI tools (e.g., Copilot) for documentation efficiency

Desired Skills:

• Background in utility or other highly regulated industries
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and concepts
• Exposure to process improvement initiatives
• Certifications or coursework in cybersecurity or technical writing
