• Clinic hours: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Position Summary
The Colleague Wellness Medical Assistant/Medical Technician provides clinical occupational health and wellness services in accordance with established organizational guidelines. This role supports employee health through medical surveillance, injury care, and preventative services while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The position also includes administrative and clerical responsibilities to support efficient clinic operations. The individual maintains strict confidentiality of all medical information and ensures proper functioning of clinical equipment. Working collaboratively with internal teams, this role contributes to a safe and healthy workplace environment. Flexibility and attention to detail are essential to meet evolving clinic needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational health screenings including spirometry, audiometry, vision testing, throat cultures, EKGs, and respirator fit testing
- Perform clinical procedures such as venipuncture, drug screenings, and vaccine administration
- Assess workplace injuries and provide first aid, including cleaning, dressing wounds, and flushing eyes or ears
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Calibrate, maintain, and ensure proper functioning of medical equipment on a daily basis
- Schedule, coordinate, and monitor patient appointments and follow-ups
- Manage and maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Provide administrative and operational support to ensure smooth clinic functioning
Organizational Relationships
- Reports to the Colleague Wellness Site Leader
- Collaborates closely with the Colleague Wellness team
- Interacts regularly with site employees (colleagues)
- Coordinates with cross-functional departments as required
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant (required)
- Prior experience in Occupational Health (preferred)
- Certification in CPR and First Aid (required)
- Phlebotomy certification (required)
- Experience in vaccine administration (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding of emergency care related to chemical or biological exposure
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
- Familiarity with Workers’ Compensation, OSHA, and ADA regulations
- Proficiency in injury treatment and occupational health screenings
- Competency in medical documentation and recordkeeping
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
- Work primarily in a clinical setting
- Part-time role: approximately 20 hours per week
- Standard working days: Monday through Friday
- Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting
- May involve exposure to workplace hazards requiring appropriate protective measures
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential
