Location: Plano, TX (Preferred Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months

The Data Steward is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, quality, and compliance of data across all systems and layers (Landing/Bronze, Silver, and Gold). This role manages end-to-end data governance processes, ensuring data meets business and regulatory requirements through consistent monitoring, documentation, and remediation.

Data Governance & Quality:

• Oversee the full lifecycle of data governance activities across all platforms and environments.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of in-scope data sources to evaluate data quality, completeness, and compliance.

• Identify and document data quality issues and gaps; lead root cause analysis (RCA) to determine underlying problems.

• Define and execute remediation plans, coordinating with data owners and confirming successful data quality fixes at the source.

• Create, test, and implement Data Quality (DQ) rules in Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.

• Track, test, and validate DQ improvements through the delivery and hypercare phases.

Data Classification & Cataloging:

• Identify and document Critical Data Elements (CDEs).

• Classify data by domain, sub-domain, and subject area to maintain structured data organization.

• Maintain a comprehensive data catalog for Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date definitions.

• Ensure all data definitions and business glossary entries follow clarity and consistency standards.

Compliance & Data Privacy:

• Conduct Data Privacy Assessments as required to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations.

• Ensure sensitive or regulated data is properly identified and handled.

Governance Oversight:

• Review and approve Data Requirement Documents (DRDs), Data Quality rules, Source-to-Target Mappings (STTMs), and other deliverables for compliance with governance standards.

• Work closely with internal teams and business data owners to formalize governance responsibilities.

• Approve Data Quality gaps, remediation plans, and new data source onboarding.

• Sign off Data Quality scorecards and provide expert guidance on change requests and issue resolution.

Cataloging Guidelines:

• Ensure all business glossary terms and definitions are clear, consistent, and easy to understand.

• Write definitions using business-friendly language, avoiding technical jargon.

• Include formulas or calculation logic for numeric fields.

• Regularly review and update definitions to maintain accuracy.

• Explain relationships between tables in business terms, not technical database language.
