Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to lead a 3rd shift stamping operations team in our high-volume metal fabrication facility in Lansing, Michigan. In this role, you will supervise a medium to large team (approximately 40 employees), ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production of exterior and structural automotive components used in General Motors’ vehicles, including pickup trucks, Cadillacs, and large SUVs.
You will be responsible for driving results in the key areas of Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). This position requires a hands-on leader with excellent communication skills, problem-solving ability, and a collaborative management style.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably metal stamping or automotive
- Strong knowledge of production operations, labor utilization, and safety practices
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
- Proven ability to manage teams, resolve issues, and meet production targets under pressure
Preferred:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or related field
- Experience in unionized environments (UAW)
- Familiarity with GM-GMS or similar production systems
- Knowledge of ERP and timekeeping systems
