What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Creative Dining Services?
Creative Dining Services at Delta College is looking for a full time Production Supervisor.
The Production Supervisor works within the Dining Services Department to ensure that high-quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food and menus are being provided throughout the operation, in a fiscally responsible and sustainable manner. Works professionally and cooperatively as a valued member of the dining services management team, assisting with any aspect of the dining services program necessary.
Core Duties:
- Participates in hiring, scheduling, timekeeping, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions of kitchen staff.
- Assists the Director of Dining with supervision and coordination of culinary activities in all operations.
- Makes food purchases and controls inventory.
- Assists the Director of Dining with developing and selecting the recipes to be used within the operation.
- Assists the Director of Dining with standardizing the production of menus and recipes.
- Estimates and forecasts food consumption, monitors production volumes, and adjusts future production as needed; maintains budgetary controls.
- Maintains an organized system of comprehensive production record keeping.
- Assists the Director of Dining with planning, costing, and pricing of menus.
- Ensures that all kitchen equipment works and is maintained properly, and the kitchen and office are organized.
- Ensures the kitchen is always safe and sanitary.
- Maintain good public relations with all customers, clients, staff, vendors, and the community; achieve high levels of customer and client satisfaction.
Education – Skills - Expectations
- SERV Safe Certification, Allergen Certified
- Minimum 5 years of culinary experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
- Computer knowledge (Culinary Suite or other comparable food production application knowledge, Microsoft 365)
- A team-first mindset with strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Shift: 8 am – 5 pm, Monday-Friday. Some flexibility on weeks with high catering volumes.
- Seasonal college semester schedule: August–May (30–42 weeks with 35 hour work weeks)
- Seasonal summer schedule; May to June - Intermittent shifts and no Fridays: (8 weeks with 20 hour work weeks)
Salary : $18 - $20
