Economic Assistance is seeking a Director of Economic Assistance in Bismarck, ND.
Internal opening to current employees of Economic Assistance as well as the Human Service Zones.
This position is located in Bismarck, ND and will work in office at the State Capitol building.

North Dakota Health and Human Services is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as our Director of Economic Assistance. This critical leadership role provides strategic direction and oversight for programs that serve as a vital connection to essential supports for individuals and families across North Dakota. The Director will lead with a focus on service, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement ensuring programs are accessible, responsive, and administered with integrity. The programs within this Section include SNAP, LIHEAP, TANF, Quality Control, and Service Delivery.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and forward-thinking leader who can navigate complex state and federal programs while never losing sight of the people behind the work. This individual will build strong partnerships across HHS, with community and government partners, and with the dedicated team members who deliver services every day.
As Director, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of economic assistance in North Dakota modernizing how we deliver services, breaking down barriers, improving the customer and team member experience, and using data and outcomes to drive meaningful change. Your leadership will be instrumental in helping HHS create an integrated system of care and support that empowers North Dakotans to live healthier, more secure lives.

Minimum Qualifications
You must have a Bachelor's degree and five years of senior leader level experience in the administration of Health & Human Service related programs, other major human service funding, or reimbursement programs (such as Public Assistance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program [ SNAP], Child Support, etc.);
Or a Bachelor's degree and five years of senior leader level management experience in healthcare administration.
Experience must have included program implementation and management, supervision of professional level staff, budget development, and people management responsibilities.
