Duties

You will apply information system security principles and concepts.You will interpret network security architecture concepts, including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., application of defense-in-depth).You will apply information system security principles and concepts, enterprise IT/OT architecture to coordinate the implementation of security programs across numerous shore platforms.You will apply system engineering planning, and systems development life cycle to lead IT/OT systems development and security projects from design to sustainment utilizing systems development principles and approaches.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: REVIEWING MY OWN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY-RELATED WORK OR DATA AND HAVE BEEN RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING THE WORK OF OTHERS TO ENSURE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AND CONSISTENCY WITH STANDARDS. 2. CYBERSECURITY - Protect and defend information and information systems in order to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability. (AKA Information Assurance) 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: PRESENT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) PROGRAM STRATEGIES TO SENIOR LEADERS FOR THE INCORPORATION OF EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES. 4. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROJECT MANAGEMENT - Execute an information technology project from initiation to sustainment to fulfill established requirements that meet specified business missions. AND In addition to demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must support at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 to GS-11 grade level or pay band NT-02 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Applying information systems security principles and concepts; new IT security developments; and project management principle. 2. Analyzing computer utilization and system performance by identifying intrusions, misuse, malfunctions, misconfigurations, and inefficiencies. 3. Recommending changes to system design, software, operating procedures, and other protection mechanisms to ensure system integrity. 4. Conducting analysis and recommend resolution of complex issues affecting the specialty area; 5. Maintaining Risk Management Framework policy, programs, and guidelines. This announcement uses the STRL Mission Support direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
