A large chemical manufacturer is partnering with MW Talent to hire an Applications Technician to support hands-on product development and materials testing for resin-based and engineered wood technologies. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in both a laboratory and workshop environment and want exposure to applied product development — not just QC testing.

• Perform lab testing and support application trials on resin and coating systems

• Prepare and assemble test panels and material samples

• Assist with raw material evaluations and product performance testing

• Record results in an electronic lab notebook

• Help coordinate and prepare materials for external testing when needed

• Work closely with the Applications Engineer on day-to-day technical tasks

• Diploma or STEM-related degree (Wood Science, Materials, Chemistry, Engineering Technology, etc.)

• 1-3 years of industrial lab or applications environment experience (preferred)

• Comfortable using both lab equipment and basic shop tools

• Detail-oriented, curious, and willing to learn

• Chemistry or polymer experience is a plus, not required

• Hands-on work — mix of lab applied materials

• Good stepping stone into applications engineering or product development

• Learn directly from the Innovation / Applications team
