POSTED ON 10/15/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/12/2027

About MUSH

Founded in 2015, MUSH manufactures, distributes, and markets ready-to-eat food products designed to make healthy eating more convenient. Our first product line of ready-to-eat overnight oats pioneered a new category for the breakfast occasion, offering a healthy, satisfying, and convenient alternative to traditional morning meals.

Our mission is to make healthy food more convenient so that humankind can feel, think, and do better.

Role Overview

The Trainer owns and leads the training program for MUSH's ready-to-eat food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring every team member is trained, qualified, and confident in their role, from their first day on the floor through ongoing refreshers, while keeping the facility audit-ready for SMETA, BRC, regulatory, and customer requirements.

This individual builds and owns the annual training schedule, creates training content from the ground up, and personally delivers training across all shifts in both English and Spanish. The role partners closely with HR, Production, Quality, Food Safety, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Safety to ensure on-the-job, HR, safety, quality, and regulatory training is completed, documented, and effective.

The Trainer is an outspoken, hands-on leader who is comfortable commanding a room, holding people accountable for training completion, and speaking up when training is behind or not working.

Key Responsibilities

Training Program & Delivery

  • Own, build, and execute the annual training schedule across all departments and shifts
  • Create training content from scratch in English and Spanish, partnering with Production, Quality, Food Safety, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Safety
  • Deliver and support on-the-job, HR, safety, quality, food safety, GMP, and allergen training
  • Verify training effectiveness through assessments and competency sign-offs; retrain where gaps are found
  • Track completion and escalate overdue training to plant leadership

Onboarding

  • Partner with HR to run new hire orientation and onboarding, including temporary and agency workers
  • Ensure every new hire completes required onboarding training before working on the production floor

Compliance & Records

  • Ensure training meets SMETA requirements, including ETI Base Code and company policy training delivered in languages team members understand
  • Coordinate OSHA, GMP, food safety, and other regulatory and customer-required training
  • Maintain audit-ready training records, the training matrix, and certification refreshers
  • Prepare training evidence for audits and close training-related corrective actions

Qualifications

Required

  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written), with the ability to train, write materials, and answer questions in both languages
  • 2 years of experience in training, HR, safety, or quality in food, beverage, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment; food manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to design and create training content, not just deliver existing material
  • Outspoken, confident presenter who can lead groups of all sizes, from production associates to plant leadership
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through on recordkeeping and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Occupational Safety, Food Science, or a related field preferred but not required

Preferred

  • Experience in a ready-to-eat food manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting SMETA or other ethical trade audits
  • Certifications such as HACCP, PCQI, OSHA 10/30, or Train-the-Trainer
  • Experience with an LMS or HRIS training module (such as BambooHR)
  • Knowledge of the ETI Base Code and ethical trade standards

Cultural Requirements

  • Teammate: know when to follow, know when to lead; always serving others
  • Beginner's Mind: provide possibilities, options, and solutions
  • Communicator: use tact and precision to communicate ideas, issues, and feedback
  • Self-Starter: there is no turn-key manual for success, you are helping to build one
  • Results Driven: you demand results, but focus on the robust processes that yield them
  • Attention to Detail: unwavering discipline with little things that make big differences
  • Relationship Builder: customer first mentality with all internal & external counterparts
  • Problem Solver: expect the unexpected; be agile & effective in combating issues
  • Thrive on Adversity: our goals are lofty and our values are grounded in humility. We bite off more than we can chew and roll our sleeves up when the situation calls for it.
  • Fun: check the fun box every day. Love what you do & do it well.

Physical and Work-Related Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds as required
  • Ability to work around operating manufacturing equipment and in cold, wet, and varying environmental conditions
  • Ability to follow all GMP, hygiene, and PPE requirements on the production floor
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays to train all shifts as business needs require
