What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Manager position at Mt Airy Rehab?
Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee the preparation of meals for residents in an assisted living facility
- Ensure that meals meet the dietary needs and preferences of individual residents
- Collaborate with Dietician, residents and staff to ensure appropriate care plans for diet management are in place.
- Monitor food service operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Train and supervise dietary staff members
- Maintain inventory of food and supplies, and order as needed. Provide documentation to administrator if items were not delivered in order and meals plans are altered.
- Stay up-to-date with current nutrition guidelines and industry trends
- Maintaining regulatory compliance per ODH and Federal guidelines as well as local authorities.
- Maintaining yearly certificates for operating food service
- Manager rounding on the units as required. Manager on Duty rotation once every 12th weekend. This is 4 hour intervals each day and flex weekday hours to maintain your salaried budgeted hours.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field preferred
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification preferred
- Experience working in a healthcare or assisted living setting Required
- Knowledge of dietary requirements for different medical conditions and diets (e.g., diabetic, low sodium, gluten-free)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and time management
