Job Summary
The Manager, Category & Consumer Insights is responsible for conducting market research, analyzing business insights, tracking competitive brands and products, studying retailer activity / trends, reporting on POS performance via syndicated data tools, and providing analytical support for market analysis and customer insights.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct internal reviews and external research on market strategies and overall category performance.
- Provide holistic insights by filling information gaps using a variety of sources.
- Conduct retail data analysis to provide explanations of market, retail, and customer data and propose recommendations.
- Study and anticipate current / new product trends and segments for analysis.
- Develop and maintain POS reporting templates and systems for data compilation and analysis that leverage syndicated data platforms such as SPINS/IRI, Nielsen, and retailer reporting platforms.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, statistics, or a related field
- Experience: 5 years of data insight experience within brand management is required.
- Experience using SPINS or Nielsen reporting tools
- Business insights and analytical skills
- Market research and analysis
- Understanding of customer and consumer insights
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
- Experience with business intelligence tools and data visualization
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
