Mechanic / Equipment & Material Delivery Driver
MSC Construction LLC is seeking a dependable, experienced Mechanic / Equipment & Material Delivery Driver to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining our fleet of diesel trucks and construction equipment while ensuring crews receive the materials and equipment they need to keep projects running on schedule.
We are looking for someone who is mechanically skilled, safety-conscious, and experienced transporting heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, skid steers, excavators, and other construction equipment.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and engine systems.
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filters, brakes, tires, batteries, and inspections.
- Transport construction equipment safely between job sites and the shop.
- Deliver landscape materials, tools, and equipment to crews throughout the workday.
- Load, unload, and properly secure equipment and materials for transport.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and report equipment needing major repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop, company vehicles, and work areas.
- Assist with fleet inspections and ensure vehicles remain DOT compliant.
- Respond to field breakdowns and emergency repair needs when necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience working on diesel trucks and heavy construction equipment is required.
- Experience hauling and moving heavy equipment is required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- CDL is preferred.
- Ability to safely operate trucks, trailers, skid steers, excavators, and other construction equipment.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs independently.
- Must be dependable, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- CDL Class A or Class B.
- Experience with CAT, John Deere, Kubota, Ford, Chevrolet, or similar construction equipment and fleet vehicles.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and equipment inspections.
