Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician supports manufacturing operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining stamping presses, robotics, utility systems, and related plant equipment. This role requires expertise across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, with a focus on safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshooting & Repair
- Diagnose and repair issues with stamping presses, robots, forklifts, cranes, and other machinery.
- Maintain and troubleshoot utility systems (electrical, compressed air, cooling water, natural gas, fire protection).
- Troubleshoot PLC systems (diagnosis, bit force, fault analysis; programming experience preferred but not required).
- Diagnose sensor and control issues (limit switches, photoelectric, proximity, laser).
- Repair and maintain VFDs, 3-phase motors, AC/DC power supplies, and servo systems.
- Resolve mechanical issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems.
Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct scheduled inspections, lubrication, and corrective repairs.
- Support preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Fabrication & Project Work
- Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding as needed.
- Operate machining tools such as lathes, drill presses, shears, and band saws.
- Fabricate, install, and repair mechanical components and cabling.
Equipment Operation & Emergency Response
- Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment failures, leaks, or utility outages.
Working Environment
- May include work at heights or in confined spaces.
- Exposure to heat, oil, grease, dust, and variable lighting conditions.
Qualifications
Education & Experience (Preferred)
- 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or related field.
- Experience with PLC systems and stamping press controls preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and mechanical systems.
- Skilled in welding, machining, and fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools (voltmeters, meggers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.).
