Pay Rate: Up to $68/hour
We are seeking an experienced Plant Vehicle Engineer – SUV General Assembly to support vehicle launch readiness, production quality, and continuous improvement for SUV programs
.This hands-on role will serve as the engineering connection between the manufacturing plant, Design & Release Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Production, Suppliers, and Vehicle Integration teams. The focus is protecting product intent, resolving production issues, improving first-time quality, and supporting successful vehicle builds.
What You’ll Do:
- Support SUV General Assembly launch and production activities
- Investigate and resolve vehicle build issues involving fit/finish, trim, closures, seating, restraints, sealing, water leaks, wind noise, and squeaks/rattles
- Lead root cause analysis, containment, corrective actions, and validation of permanent fixes
- Support engineering changes, production breakpoints, and plant readiness activities
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Production, and Suppliers to improve vehicle quality
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce defects, rework, and production disruptions
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of automotive engineering experience
- General Assembly, vehicle launch, manufacturing, quality, or vehicle integration experience
- Hands-on plant-floor troubleshooting experience
- Experience with root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why, corrective actions)
- Experience supporting engineering changes (ECR/ECO), BOM updates, and production implementation
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation
Preferred Experience:
- OEM or Tier 1 automotive launch experience
- SUV, body, interior, seating, closures, roof systems, or exterior component experience
- APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, DFM/DFA experience
- Prototype, pilot build, and production ramp support experience
