Job Summary

We are seeking a Production Superintendent to oversee daily production operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for leading production teams, ensuring safe and efficient operations, meeting production schedules, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in automotive or manufacturing environments with the ability to manage production personnel, coordinate cross-functional activities, improve operational performance, and ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and customer requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• 2–4 years of manufacturing experience in a production environment
• Strong leadership and employee development skills
• Experience managing production schedules, staffing, and labor utilization
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, including 5S and standardized work practices
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
• Strong understanding of quality systems and manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and resolve operational issues
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Automotive manufacturing experience
• Experience with BOS (Built on Safety/Business Operating System) or similar operating systems
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
• Experience with profit and loss accountability within manufacturing operations
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 or other quality management systems
• Experience leading employee performance management and coaching initiatives

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead all assembly operations within the plant while coordinating daily activities across production departments
• Monitor customer shipping requirements, production schedules, and quality expectations to ensure on-time delivery
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels while maintaining efficient direct and indirect labor utilization
• Monitor production costs and support plant profitability through effective operational management
• Analyze daily production results to determine material, equipment, and staffing requirements
• Conduct daily meetings with production supervisors and communicate regularly with department leaders to resolve production issues
• Follow up on corrective actions to ensure production issues are resolved effectively
• Identify, implement, and verify continuous improvement opportunities to increase productivity and operational efficiency
• Ensure compliance with shop floor standards, including BOS, 5S, company policies, and employee relations practices
• Maintain responsibility for overall product quality and take immediate action when quality concerns arise, including stopping production when necessary
• Investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Participate in quality audits and preventative quality improvement activities
• Lead the training, coaching, and development of production personnel while building high-performing teams
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to support continuous development
• Serve as the communication link between management and production staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved
• Collaborate with employees to establish performance objectives and development plans
• Support Health, Safety, Environmental, and Energy (HSE&E) initiatives throughout the facility
• Report accidents, occupational illnesses, and unsafe conditions while ensuring compliance with all safety procedures
• Promote safe work practices throughout assigned production areas
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager or Plant Manager
