A Machine Maintenance Technician inspects, repairs, and maintains industrial machinery to ensure peak performance, prevents downtime, and keep equipment safe in various sectors like manufacturing, energy, and food processing, handling tasks from routine lubrication and diagnostics to major component replacement and troubleshooting mechanical or electrical issues using hand/power tools and following strict safety protocols.
Essential Functions
Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular checks, cleaning, lubrication, and calibration to prevent breakdowns.
Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose issues, analyze error messages, and fix or replace broken parts (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic).
Installation: Set up and assemble new machinery and equipment.
Testing: Conduct tests after repairs to ensure machines run smoothly and efficiently.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures, safety guidelines, and machine specifications.
Documentation: Record maintenance, repair, and production data.
Work with team members as needed
Uses lock-out tag-out procedures on all equipment.
Works with technicians to troubleshoot problems with molding machines and implement permanent fixes/solutions
Maintains safe and clean work environment by using all equipment and resources while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
Reads and understands mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, pneumatic schematics, and PLC ladder logic
Work with teams to help with the installation of new equipment, and implementation of plant driven continuous improvement projects
Resolve technical problems by investigating issues, identifying solutions, and providing recommendations for corrective actions
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
Logs time on PMs and repairs into the shop system database
Position Requirements
High school education preferred or equivalent work experience
Experience in preventive maintenance, electronics and hydraulics
3 Years Experience Working With Injection Molding Machines Required
Ability to install general equipment utilizing equipment manuals
Ability to teach other members of dept and be on-call to assist when machines are down
Electronic Component Repair Skills Desired, But Not Required
Competent use of hand tools and electrical test devices
