What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Lead position at MRP Solutions?
The Work Cell Coach will oversee the day-to-day operation of their assigned Work Cell. The Work Cell Coach has overall responsibility for the operations of their Work Cell and may require escalation of issues to other supporting departments (i.e. Maintenance and Automation, Tool Room) or their Supervisor. This position will report directly to the Supervisor of their shift.
Responsibilities
Supports a culture where employees address unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviors and participate and make suggestions for improvement.
Identify safety gaps and self-initiate corrective actions.
Strictly adhere to plant safety, housekeeping, and 5S efforts.
Understands, identifies and corrects safety hazards.
Create a work environment where risks are managed with an appropriate sense of urgency
Support and ensure compliance and execution of company vision
Perform cell walk at shift exchange with previous WCC
Ensure labor density plan is followed
Review machine downtime to ensure optimized labor assignments
Ensure machine/cell readiness for production
Approve start-up of prod
Inspect one shot/operator/day (with them) and then one shot/operator/day independently to ensure compliance and effectiveness and to ensure quality product is being produced within the cell
Perform Gemba walks every 2 hours-doc results on MDI
Ensure Operator AMs are being completed
Hold TPM meeting weekly and maintain Found vs. Fixed
Ensure proper shutdown of machines: End of run, no-op, and Holiday shutdown
Performance of assigned LPAs
Investigate Production Anomalies (pulls, DT, Red Screen, HrxHr, Labor variance, proactively reduce scrap)
Communicate/escalate operational issues with shift supervisor
Lead, support, and develop operator skill level in work cell for better performance
Ensure compliance plant initiatives ISO, TPM and GMP
Manage scrap waste stream and drive reduction within the cell
Assist with machine breakdowns and escalate to support groups

Previous experience supervising employees within a manufacturing, military or industrial environment.
