Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer proactively identifies and leads improvement projects aimed at enhancing production efficiency, reducing cost, and improving quality. This role involves hands-on engineering, process development, documentation, and data-driven problem-solving to support high-performance manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed processes and accompanying documentation providing the operations team with clear SOPs for rebuilding transmissions.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in assigned production areas.
- Design and implement engineering solutions that support increased output, reduced costs, and improved quality.
- Support production team with sustainable process development and problem resolution.
- Contribute to achieving company-wide quality performance targets.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proactive and analytical problem solver with strong interpersonal skills.
- Hands-on mechanical engineering and manufacturing experience.
- Automotive industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in fixture & tooling design, fabrication, and process optimization.
- Previous machine shop experience with manual and CNC machines.
- Previous experience developing SOPs.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Process Engineering.
- New graduates welcome, with relevant internship or co-op experience and strong automotive knowledge.
- Fundamental understanding of mechanical systems, such as gear trains, hydraulics, or rotating machinery.
- Comfortable using Excel for calculation, data manipulation and creating data visualizations.
- Eager to take on new challenges with a positive, team-first attitude and a willingness to develop new skills.
