Mountain Gateway Community College (MGCC) is a two-year public institution of higher education and one of 23 community colleges in Virginia. We are looking for a part-time Certified Medical Assistant Instructor to teach courses in our Medical Assistant program. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching, a strong background in medical assisting, and the ability to inspire students to excel in their healthcare careers.
- Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum standards.
- Teach fundamental medical assistant skills, including clinical procedures, administrative tasks, and patient interaction.
- Provide hands-on instruction in laboratory settings and clinical simulations.
- Assess student performance through evaluations, assignments, and practical exams.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and success.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in medical assistance to ensure course content remains relevant.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance program offerings and student experience.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Certified Clinical Medical assistant with 2 years experience in the field. OR an LPN/RN with 2 years of hands on experience.
- Previous teaching or training experience preferred, but not required.
- In-depth knowledge of medical assisting procedures, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students of diverse backgrounds.
