Medical Records Supervisor
Job Summary:
Mount Joseph at Waterville is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Supervisor to maintain medical records in accordance with federal and state guidelines, as well as our established policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of medical records staff, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of medical records, and providing exceptional customer service to our residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
Essential Functions:
Know, understand, incorporate, and demonstrate the Mission, Vision, Values, and Guiding Behaviors of Mount Joseph at Waterville in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
Execute assignments in a culture that is shared and collaborative across all divisions within MJW.
Prepare new charts for admissions, maintain proper forms in charts, and assign admission numbers per our registry for MDI.
Enter information and documentation accurately in electronic records in accordance with company policy, practice, and standards.
Audit electronic records per facility policy and procedure, reporting any issues to Administration.
Scan all forms and attach to resident record in defined area, completing audits for assuring accuracy of scanning and filing of information in the correct Electronic Record and in the correct area.
Log all medical record requests, internal and external, to insurance, attorneys, patients and families, making copies and sending assigned letters to request source for proper charges per company policy, standards, and practice.
Maintain a neat and organized work area.
Perform other duties as assigned, including logging physician visits, reporting occupational exposures, and participating in training and education classes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft product suite, extensive knowledge and experience with medical terminology.
Health information management preferred.
Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.
Ability to utilize and maintain standard office equipment.
Must possess superior customer service skills and professionalism, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and ability to adapt to ongoing change and work in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
