What are the responsibilities and job description for the Installation Technician position at Motive Workforce?
We're looking for an experienced FTTH Drop Installation Technician to join a growing fiber team expanding high-speed internet service to residential and commercial customers. If you have hands-on fiber installation experience and enjoy working in the field, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do:
- Install underground and aerial FTTH fiber drops
- Perform fiber splicing, termination, testing, and troubleshooting
- Install conduit, customer premise equipment, and grounding systems
- Route fiber into homes and businesses
- Test fiber using OTDRs, fusion splicers, and power meters
- Read fiber network prints, maps, and work orders
- Complete service activations and resolve connectivity issues
- Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining quality and safety standards
What We're Looking For:
1-3 years of fiber optic, telecommunications, cable, or utility construction experience
FTTH installation experience preferred
Fiber splicing and testing experience required
Experience with underground and aerial construction methods
Experience blowing fiber is a plus
Comfortable working directly with residential and commercial customers
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferred Certifications:
- FOA Fiber Optic Certification
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- CDL A or bucket truck certification (a plus)
