Our client is an established engineering and manufacturing company with more than 40 years of experience designing and fabricating highly engineered process systems for aerospace, defense, semiconductor, chemical processing, food processing, water treatment, and industrial manufacturing customers.
Every project is custom. Every customer has unique requirements. You'll work closely with customers and internal engineering and manufacturing teams to develop practical solutions that become successful projects.
What You'll Do
- Respond to Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
- Meet with customers to understand project requirements
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer documentation
- Develop complete cost estimates for labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment
- Prepare accurate quotations and technical proposals
- Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Project Management
- Manage multiple estimates and projects simultaneously
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Support project handoff following award
- Contribute to business growth through technical expertise and customer service
Qualifications
- 5 years of estimating experience within custom industrial equipment or manufacturing
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Experience estimating tanks, process piping, skids, pressure vessels, structural steel, or custom process equipment
- Experience developing Bills of Material and labor estimates
- Strong understanding of fabrication methods and manufacturing processes
- Experience reviewing vendor and subcontractor quotations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with Microsoft Project
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
- Knowledge of welding, fitting, cutting, and fabrication processes
