Our client is seeking a Licensing Compliance Consultant to support their Global Consumer Products Business Operations team. This is an initial 9-month contract fully onsite in their NYC Office.
This role combines royalty compliance and cash collections responsibilities, making it ideal for professionals with backgrounds in accounting, finance operations, licensing, royalties, accounts receivable, or collections. The consultant will work closely with internal stakeholders and external licensees to ensure accurate royalty reporting, compliance with contractual obligations, and timely collection of outstanding receivables.

Pay Rate: 36/hr. on a W2
Responsibilities
- Review licensing contracts and compare financial terms against royalty statements to ensure compliance
- Investigate and resolve royalty reporting discrepancies throughout the contract lifecycle
- Support licensees and internal teams with royalty statement submissions and processing issues
- Troubleshoot royalty reporting, system access, and financial inquiries
- Contact licensees to resolve outstanding accounts receivable balances and compliance matters
- Track and monitor expected royalty payments and collections activity
- Maintain collection records and reason codes to accurately reflect receivable status
- Coordinate withholding tax documentation and support month-end close activities
- Assist finance, sales, and cash application teams with payment-related inquiries
- Generate reports and support special projects as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
- 3–5 years of experience in licensing, royalties, collections, accounting, finance operations, or related fields
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience analyzing contracts and financial documentation
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Royalty accounting experience
- Experience with publishing, music, media, or entertainment royalties
- Background in cash collections and accounts receivable
- Experience in operations finance, accounting, or operations management
- Global licensing industry experience
