Our client a major entertainment/media client is looking to hire an Accountant II to support their Content Licensing Accounting operations. This is an initial 5-month contract fully onsite opportunity.
This role will focus heavily on month-end close activities, revenue recognition, general ledger reconciliations, and financial analysis tied to licensing agreements. The ideal candidate will come from a strong accounting background with experience supporting complex contracts, audits, and reporting in a fast-paced environment. Studio or entertainment industry experience is highly preferred.
Contract: 5-months (possibility of extension)
Pay Rate: 55 /hr. on a W2
Onsite 5-days a week
Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and quarter-end close processes, including revenue recognition and trial balance reconciliations
- Analyze and report on content licensing agreements, payment terms, and license fee calculations
- Prepare journal entries and support general ledger accounting functions
- Perform account reconciliations including clearing accounts and cash reconciliations
- Support internal and external audits (SOX, GAAP compliance, PWC/EY audits)
- Analyze foreign exchange variances, forecast vs. actuals, and present value reporting
- Review and validate accounting transactions within PRISM/TVR systems
- Track and report on revenue share agreements and related accounting activity
- Partner cross-functionally with Deal Management, IT, and Finance teams
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3β6 years of accounting experience in a similar role
- Strong experience with:
- General ledger reconciliations
- Revenue recognition
- Month-end/quarter-end close
- Journal entries
- GAAP accounting principles
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Entertainment or studio accounting experience
- CPA designation preferred
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, Oracle Fusion, Cognos, BW, SmartView, or PRISM systems
- Experience supporting audits and SOX compliance
