Controller

Responsibilities:
• Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, benefits administration, and bank reconciliations
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes with a strong emphasis on accuracy, consistency, and timeliness
• Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and management reports for leadership
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to protect company assets and ensure long-term stability
• Partner closely with ownership and leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking
• Coordinate with external CPA firms on audits, tax preparation, and compliance
• Oversee commission reporting and reconciliations for sales teams and partner manufacturers
• Provide practical financial insight to support operational decisions, cost management, and profitability by product line and customer
• Improve accounting systems, reporting tools, and processes with a thoughtful, long-term mindset
• Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering accountability, teamwork, and professional development
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred, not required)
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a closely held, family-owned, or relationship-driven business
• Experience in construction, distribution, sales, or manufacturer-representative environments a plus
• Strong working knowledge of accounting systems (QuickBooks Online, ADP, or similar) and Excel
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial partners
• High integrity, discretion, and pride in ownership of work
Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
