A Kansas City–based organization is seeking a Part-Time Accounts Payable Assistant to provide short-term support during a team transition. This temporary role will help keep accounts payable processes moving while internal responsibilities shift and training takes place. It’s a great opportunity for someone with AP experience who can step in quickly, work independently, and ensure accuracy during a busy period.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the accounts payable inbox and respond to or route vendor inquiries
- Enter and process invoices, including utility and merchandise invoices with associated POs
- Print and prepare checks for weekly check runs, including applying postage and mailing
- Assist with basic invoice review and ensure accuracy before processing
- Communicate with vendors and internal partners regarding invoice questions
- Support general AP and accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Prior accounts payable experience with an understanding of AP workflow
- Basic general ledger or accounting knowledge
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies
- Comfortable working in accounting systems and Microsoft Outlook
- Basic Excel skills and familiarity with Teams preferred
- Ability to jump in quickly and work independently in a short-term role
