This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children, values kindness and patience, and thrives in a collaborative school environment grounded in Montessori philosophy and whole-child development.
Responsibilities Include
- Supporting the lead teacher with daily classroom routines and instruction
- Assisting students with academic, social, and behavioral needs
- Helping maintain a calm, organized, and nurturing classroom environment
- Supervising students during transitions, lunch, playground, and specials
- Preparing classroom materials and assisting with hands-on learning activities
- Supporting positive behavior, grace and courtesy, and independence in students
- Assisting with aftercare supervision as needed
- Collaborating professionally with faculty, staff, and families
- Experience working with young children in a school or childcare setting
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and strong teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and engaged throughout the school day
- Montessori experience or interest is a plus, but not required
- CDA, paraprofessional certification, or early childhood coursework preferred
- Full-time, school-year position
- Hours are 8:15 AM 4:15 PM daily
